This is the Debian prepackaged version of original-awk, the original awk
used in the first releases of Unix.

It was downloaded from http://www.cs.princeton.edu/~bwk/btl.mirror/awk.tar.gz

The changes made for Debian have been fairly minimal:

* Renamed awk to original-awk.
* Addition of the debian/* files.

This package was first put together by Santiago Vila ,
who currently maintains it.
